Alfio’s Caffe - Fairfield
First date. That’s what I have on my hands. He is coming over to where I
am, and I am in Fairfield. Where do we go? I rack my brain for an answer
to one of life’s most fascinating questions. The answer to which would
mean true love or a wasted 2 hours. Fine dining restaurant? Too over the
top. Local Thai? Archaic. A bar? What am I trying to say? Alfio’s gave
me the answer. So on that fateful Saturday afternoon not so long ago, I
went to meet a nice man for the first time at Alfio’s. Perfect. Low-key,
comfortable, and every way a smart classy coffee place which could be a
quiet afternoon wine bar if need be or the place to hold hands! Alfio’s
serves up good wines and good coffees. How good is that? The date goes
well, the coffee is just nice, and not too large a cup. “Great!” says I,
“If I need to bolt early, finishing this quick one would be a great
excuse to go. If not, I will order another, a quiet sign that I might be
interested” think I, smug. The second coffee was ordered in the end,
wine was contemplated, no relationship ensued, but Alfio’s is
unforgettable. Go there, date or no date.
